Regular Season Round 4: Hertener Loewen - Recklinghausen 83-71

Rather predictable result when top-ranked Hertener Loewen (5-0) defeated at home 6th ranked Recklinghausen (3-2) 83-71 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Dijon Smith (203-89, college: Ft.Hays State) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 19 rebounds and American-Spanish guard Marco Porcher-Jimenez (193-92, college: FIU) who added 16 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side Canadian-Polish forward Konrad Tota (196-80, college: Dickinson St.) responded with 31 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Dalante Dunklin (185-94, college: San Diego Chr.) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hertener Loewen have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of West leader, which they share with Muenster and Grevenbroich. Newly promoted Recklinghausen keeps the sixth place with two games lost. Hertener Loewen will face Ibbenbueren (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Recklinghausen will play against the league's leader Grevenbroich and hope to win that game.
