Regular Season Round 4: Guaros 2 - Comuna 95-85

Very significant was Guaros 2's (#1, 4-0) victory against 3rd ranked Comuna (3-3) 95-85. Guaros 2 players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The winners were led by international center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and the former international swingman Jose Vargas (195-82, agency: Pro Sports) supported him with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by naturalized Colombian point guard Jorge Leon (188-79) did not help to save the game for Comuna. Swingman Leonardo Berroteran (192-81) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Four Comuna players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guaros 2 have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Newly promoted Comuna keeps the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Aduaneros. Guaros 2 will play against Metropolitanos (#5) in Caracas in the next round. Comuna will have a break next round.
