Regular Season Round 4: Toyotsu FE - Ehime OV 94-88

Everything could happen in Nagoya at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Toyotsu FE and much higher ranked Orange Vikings had identical 2-1 record. This time Toyotsu FE used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Matsuyama 94-88 on Sunday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 48-40 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Toyotsu FE looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: Washington St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Herbert Hill (208-84, college: Providence) contributed with 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Toyotsu FE's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Toshino Tatsuhiko (185-88) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists and American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) added 19 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Orange Vikings. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toyotsu FE (3-1) moved-up to second place, which they share with Hiroshima D. and Kanazawa Sam. Orange Vikings at the other side keep the second position with two games lost. Toyotsu FE will face Gunma (#5) on the road in the next round. Orange Vikings will play against Kagawa FA and hope to win that game.
