Regular Season Round 1: Galil Gilboa - Maccabi Ashdod 84-77

Galil Gilboa used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Ashdod 84-77 on Monday night. Strangely Maccabi Ashdod outrebounded Galil Gilboa 50-26 including a 19-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American Tyler Stone (203-91, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Diamond Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. His fellow American import DAngelo Harrison (193-93, college: St.John's, agency: 3Eye) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward David Laury (206-90, college: Iona) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and American-Finnish center Gerald Lee (208-87, college: ODU) added 15 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Galil Gilboa will meet Ironi Nes-Ziona (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Maccabi Haifa and hope to win that game.
