Regular Season Round 4: Mondragon - Valladolid Univ. 70-72

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Valladolid Univ. and bottom-ranked Mondragon had identical 0-1 record. But Mondragon was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Valladolid 72-70 on Thursday night. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 17-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Javier Martinez (187-97) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Alvaro Encinas (202-94) who added 12 points during the contest. Valladolid Univ. (1-1) left bottom position moving up to sixth place in Group A-A, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Mondragon still closes the standings with two games lost. Valladolid Univ. will face Valle de Egues (#15) in Olaz in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mondragon will play on the road against Zornotza in Amorebieta-Echano and hopes to get finally their first victory.
