There was no surprise in Olaz where bottom-ranked Valle de Egues (0-2) was defeated by first ranked Burgos (3-1) 73-68 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 25-13 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Burgos outrebounded Valle de Egues 37-21 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Alberto Duarte (202-92) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds and center Mario Tobar (200-88) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side Aingeru Ochotorena responded with 17 points and Fernando Santesteban scored 15 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Burgos have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A-A with 3-1 record. Loser Valle de Egues still closes the standings with two games lost. Burgos will face Zarautz (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Valle de Egues will play against Valladolid Univ. and hopes to get finally their first victory.
