Regular Season Round 6: Comuna - Metropolitanos 87-84

A very close game took place in Caracas (derby !!!) between Comuna and Metropolitanos. Fourth ranked Comuna (4-5) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Metropolitanos (4-5). Comuna managed to escape with a 3-point win 87-84 in the fight for the third place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Metropolitanos. Comuna dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Metropolitanos' 32. Swingman Leonardo Berroteran (192-81) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Anderson Morales (180-92) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Comuna's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international center Alejandro Barrios (204-79) with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jovanni Diaz (203-90) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Five Metropolitanos players scored in double figures. Comuna moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Metropolitanos. Comuna will meet at home league's second-placed Guaros 2 in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Metropolitanos will play against the league's leader Cangrejeros in Maturin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
