Regular Season Round 5: Vic - Cerdanyola 111-37

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Vic (3-1) smashed at home 11th ranked Cerdanyola (1-3) 111-37 on Saturday. The game without a history. Vic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Cerdanyola to just 5 points in first quarter. Vic dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Cerdanyola's 22. Vic forced 23 Cerdanyola turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Vic looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Cerdanyola's players. Cerdanyola was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Julian Garrote (185-82) who scored 25 points and 5 assists. Power forward Samuel Dominguez (204-91, college: La Palma) chipped in 17 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Five Vic players scored in double figures. Power forward Aitor Murua (198-90) produced 7 points and 5 rebounds and forward Javier Anton (198) added 7 points respectively for the guests. Vic moved-up to second place in Group C-B, which they share with 3 other teams. Cerdanyola lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with three games lost. Vic will face Olivar (#12) in Zaragoza in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cerdanyola will play at home against Andorra II and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
