Regular Season Round 2: Amyntas Dafnis - Ethnikos 85-75

Very important is a road loss of Ethnikos (1-1) against Amyntas Dafnis (1-1) on Saturday night. Visiting Ethnikos was defeated by Amyntas Dafnis in Athens 85-75. It looked good early as Ethnikos took a 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Amyntas Dafnis had a 32-13 second period charge getting the lead and Ethnikos was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-85. Amyntas Dafnis players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Forward Spyros Diamantopoulos (197-83) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points. Point guard Leonidas Zoupas (182-82) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Estonian point guard Rait-Riivo Laane (179-93) replied with 23 points and forward Antonis Sklivas (203-95) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Ethnikos. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Amyntas Dafnis' next round opponent will be Doxa Lefkadas on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Ethnikos will play against Psychiko (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
