Regular Season Round 4: Schalke - Bernau 84-81

The biggest surprise took place in Schalke where host Schalke (4-0) edged league's leader SSV Lok Bernau (3-1) 84-81 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of SSV Lok Bernau. It was a key game for the top position in North. American power forward R.J. Slawson (203-92, college: Jacksonville) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized American forward Shawn Gulley (201-93, college: Temple JC) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Dexter Werner (198-94, college: N.Dakota St.) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Robert Kulawick (192-86) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Schalke and four SSV Lok Bernau players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Schalke have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of North leader. SSV Lok Bernau at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Rist Wedel. They were replaced at the leadership position by Dragons. SSV Lok Bernau will play next round against Herzoege Wolfenbuettel trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Schalke will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked ETB Wohnbau in Essen.
