Regular Season Round 6: Nidaros Jets - Baerum Basket 90-81

Rather predictable result in Tromdheim where eighth ranked Nidaros Jets (3-3) defeated 10th ranked Baerum Basket (1-5) 90-81 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Baerum Basket won third quarter 27-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Nidaros Jets won last quarter 26-18. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Baerum Basket's 32. Nidaros Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. Australian guard Joel Spear (192-94, college: S.Oregon) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals. Four Nidaros Jets players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian guard Keith Omoerah (194-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Stian Mjos (183-89) added 24 points and 9 assists respectively. Nidaros Jets moved-up to sixth place. Baerum Basket lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Nidaros Jets will meet at home higher ranked Froya Basket (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Baerum Basket will play against Kongsberg (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
