Rather predictable result in Santa Cruz de Ten. where sixth ranked Tenerife Naut. (3-1) edged 10th ranked Lanzarote (1-3) 89-86 on Saturday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 23-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was power forward Samuel Rodriguez (200-97) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Ayoze Alonso (187-91) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. Tenerife Naut.'s coach Santi Lucena allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Bosnian center Andrej Tomic (213-92, college: Co.Georgia) produced 23 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Raul Rodriguez (186-92) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Tenerife Naut. and four Lanzarote players scored in double figures. Tenerife Naut. moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Lanzarote dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. Tenerife Naut. will face league's second-placed Azuqueca at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lanzarote will play against the league's leader Almansa (#1) and hope to win that game.
