Regular Season Round 3: Myrtia - Avila 82-69

No shocking result in a game when Myrtia (3-0) beat Fontedoso Carrefour (1-2) in Murcia 82-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Myrtia. Fontedoso Carrefour was better in third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Fontedoso Carrefour 39-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. Myrtia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American center Chris Matagrano (206-90, college: New Hampshire) who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). French guard Kevin Franceschi (190-93, college: Oklah.Baptist) contributed with 11 points and 4 assists for the winners. Myrtia's coach Quini Garcia used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Jon Aramburu (204-92, agency: Duran International) answered with 29 points and 8 rebounds and Venezuelan point guard Harold Cazorla (175-91, agency: Duran International) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Fontedoso Carrefour. Myrtia will face Navarra (#8) in Pamplona in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fontedoso Carrefour will play at home against Albacete and hope to win that game.
