Regular Season Round 6: Ammerud Bskt - Gimle BBK 71-63

The most important game in the last round took place in Oslo between third ranked Gimle BBK (4-3) and fifth ranked Ammerud Bskt (4-3) on Sunday night. Gimle BBK was defeated by Ammerud Bskt in a tough game on the road 63-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gimle BBK. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 39-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Ammerud Bskt looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Latvian forward Karlis Helmanis (200-97) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Swedish forward Plaisir Mukoko (198-91) chipped in 21 points during the contest. Ammerud Bskt's coach Mustafa Mahnin used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Lorenzo Cugini (198-93, college: High Point) with 28 points and 9 rebounds and guard Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Ammerud Bskt moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Gimle BBK. Ammerud Bskt is looking forward to face Tromso (#8) on the road in the next round. Gimle BBK will play against the league's leader Asker Aliens (#1) and is hoping to win this game.
