Regular Season Round 4: Flames - KOS 81-67
Date: October 15, 2017
No shocking result in a game in Vienna where fifth ranked Flames (3-1) defeated 7th ranked KOS (1-3) 81-67. Flames made 31-of-36 charity shots (86.1 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by KOS helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by German forward Maximilan Huebner (196-91) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and American Jason Chappell (208-83, college: Wisconsin) supported him with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Flames' coach Franz Zderadicka allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by Slovenian point guard Ziga Erculj (182-86) did not help to save the game for KOS. Slovenian power forward Jakob Strazar (202-94) added 15 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Flames moved-up to third place, which they share with Lions and Blackbirds. KOS lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Flames' next round opponent will be league's leader Mustangs in Mistelbach and it will be for sure the game of the week. KOS will play at home against the league's second-placed Timberwolves (#2) and hope to win that game.
