Regular Season Round 5: Ardoi - Santurtzi 54-68

No shocking result in a game in Zizur Mayor where leader Santurtzi (3-0) defeated 9th ranked Ardoi (1-2) 68-54 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Santurtzi. Ardoi was better in second period 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was forward Mikel Sainz (195-95) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Juan Torres (196-92) chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Santurtzi's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Naturalized Ukrainian forward Anton Savitski (196-86) produced 10 points and 7 rebounds and center Andres Zabaleta (200-94) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Santurtzi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in Group A-A, which they share with Estela and Zornotza. Loser Ardoi dropped to the eleventh position with two games lost. Santurtzi will face league's second-placed Estela in Santander in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ardoi will play on the road against the league's leader Burgos (#1) and hope to win that game.
