Regular Season Round 2: Ironi Nahariya - Hapoel T-A 102-87
Date: October 15, 2017
There was a surprise result when Ironi Nahariya (1-1) defeated at home Hapoel Tel-Aviv (1-1) 102-87. The game was mostly controlled by Ironi Nahariya. Hapoel Tel-Aviv was better in third quarter 28-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ironi Nahariya shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. American swingman Alex Young (198-89, college: IUPUI, agency: Two Points) notched 27 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and New Zealand guard Corey Webster (188-88, college: Lambuth) supported him with 15 points and 7 assists. Five Ironi Nahariya players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 5 rebounds by the former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Tel-Aviv. American point guard Tywain McKee (188-86, college: Coppin St.) added 16 points and 6 assists for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ironi Nahariya's next round opponent will be Hapoel Eilat (#5) on the road. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Hapoel Jerusalem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
