There was a surprise result when Rimini (2-1) edged at home Padova (2-1) 69-66 on Sunday. It was a great evening for guard Paolo Busetto (192-96) who led his team to a victory scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Joel Myers (185-95) helped adding 13 points. Rimini's coach Andrea Maghelli used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was point guard Andrea Piazza (188-89) with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Dominican guard Jean-Carlos Canelo (188-89, agency: Interperformances) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Four Padova players scored in double figures. Rimini will face Lugo (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Padova will play against Reggio Emilia (#15) and hope to win that game.
