But Hapoel Holon was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Eilat 89-82. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hapoel Holon won third quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Hapoel Eilat won last quarter 27-21. Hapoel Eilat outrebounded Hapoel Holon 38-20 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Demetrius Treadwell (201-91, college: Akron) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Jordan Loyd (193-93, college: Indianapolis) supported him with 18 points and 5 assists. Five Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 6 rebounds by naturalized American forward Joe Alexander (203-86, college: W.Virginia) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Holon. American guard Tu Holloway (183-89, college: Xavier) added 21 points for the hosts. Hapoel Holon's coach Dan Shamir rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hapoel Eilat's next round opponent will be Ironi Nahariya (#3) at home, which may be the game of the day. Hapoel Holon will play against Bnei Hasharon (#4) in Hod Hasharon and hope to win that game.
