Regular Season Round 6: KTU - Suduva-Mantinga 71-87

Bottom-ranked KTU (0-6) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to third ranked Suduva-Mantinga (5-1) 87-71 on Saturday evening. Suduva-Mantinga dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to KTU's 36 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded KTU 32-17 including 21 on the defensive glass. Suduva-Mantinga looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was Rokas Stankevicius (200-95) who scored 22 points and 4 assists. Forward Antanas Udras (203-92, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Martynas Zigmantavicius (187-96) who recorded 9 points and 8 assists and point guard Medas Kuprijanovas (195-96) added 14 points and 5 steals respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Suduva-Mantinga have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser KTU still closes the standings with six games lost. Suduva-Mantinga will meet at home Silute (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KTU will play against Ereliai Mazeikiai (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
