Regular Season Round 3: Iraklis - Papagou 84-61

Date: October 21, 2017
There was no surprise in Thessaloniki where Papagou (1-2) was crushed by Iraklis (3-0) 84-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Iraklis. Papagou was better in fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Domagoj Bubalo (212-91, agency: 011 Sports) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four Iraklis players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Panagiotis Filippakos (203-94) who recorded 12 points and 8 rebounds and center Petros Melissaratos (205-93) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Iraklis will face Apollon Patras (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Papagou's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Marousi.
