Regular Season Round 5: Norrort - Sundsvall 90-59

Very predictable result when leader Taby Basket (3-0) outscored at home 9th ranked Sundsvall (1-4) 90-59 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-59. Taby Basket dominated on the defensive end, holding Sundsvall to just 7 points in third quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Sundsvall's 36. Taby Basket forced 26 Sundsvall turnovers and outrebounded them 58-45 including a 26-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Marcus Friman (203-95) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. Guard David Niklasson (193-95, college: N.Platte CC) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Taby Basket's coach Anders Lemmeke felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Marcus Elfving (198-89) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds and power forward William Skagius (201-96) added 20 points and 14 rebounds respectively for the guests. Taby Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with KFUM Fryshuset. Sundsvall lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Taby Basket will face league's leader KFUM Blackeberg in Vallingby in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sundsvall will play at home against AIK II (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
