Regular Season Round 8: Shinshu BW - Fukuoka Rizing 73-94

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Shinshu BW (5-3) in Nagano on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Fukuoka Rizing (7-1) 94-73. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Fukuoka Rizing dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Eric Jacobsen (208-94, college: Arizona St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) who added 22 points during the contest. Four Fukuoka Rizing players scored in double figures. American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Tim Dezelski (198-90, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) scored 5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Fukuoka Rizing maintains first position with 7-1 record which they share with defeated Shinshu BW. Shinshu BW at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Fukuoka Rizing are looking forward to face Dragonflies (#3) in Hiroshima in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Shinshu BW will play on the road against Tokyo Z and is hoping to win this game.
