Regular Season Round 8: Toyotsu FE - Tokyo Z 88-76

Everything could happen in Nagoya at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Toyotsu FE and 6th ranked Tokyo Z had identical 3-4 record. This time Toyotsu FE used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Tokyo 88-76 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Toyotsu FE led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: Washington St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Herbert Hill (208-84, college: Providence) who added 12 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. American forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Kashiwagura Kashiwagura (180-95) scored 13 points and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyotsu FE (4-4) moved-up to third place, which they share with Sendai 89ers. Loser Tokyo Z dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Toyotsu FE will face Cyberdyne IR (#5) in Tsukuba in the next round. Tokyo Z will play at home against Shinshu BW and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
