There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Volpino (1-3) won against at home 13th ranked Palermo GB (1-3) 72-58 on Sunday. Palermo GB was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Edoardo Caversazio (199-96) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Kevin Cusenza (202-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Four Volpino players scored in double figures. Guard Michele Venturelli (190-82) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Andrea Lombardo (197-90) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Palermo GB's coach Marco Verderosa rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Volpino left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place in B, which they share with defeated Palermo GB. Volpino will face higher ranked Rimini (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
