Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Faenza and 11th ranked Umbertide had identical 1-2 record. But Umbertide was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Faenza 69-66 on Sunday night. It was a great shooting night for Faenza especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Guard Licia Schwienbacher (170-95) fired 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Camilla Coraducci (172-90) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Faenza's coach Cristina Bassi allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Finnish forward Evita Iiskola (183-93, college: Providence) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) and point guard Arianna Meschi (165-97) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Faenza (2-2) moved-up to eighth place in A2. Loser Umbertide keeps the eleventh position with three games lost. Faenza will face league's leader Bologna at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Umbertide will play against the league's second-placed RR Retail Galli (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
