Regular Season Round 7: Al-Hala - Al-Najma 92-89

The most exciting game of round 7 in the Premier League took place in Muharraq. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Al-Najma (3-3) to fifth ranked Al-Hala (4-2) 92-89 in the game for the fifth place. 24 personal fouls committed by Al-Najma helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Lebanese center Loren Woods (218-78, college: Arizona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 17 rebounds and 4 blocks. Hasan Gerashi contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Al-Hala players scored in double figures. American forward Haminn Quaintance (203-85, college: Kent St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 assists and Mohammed Bullay added 8 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Al-Najma. Al-Hala maintains fifth place with 4-2 record. Al-Najma at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Al-Riffa. Al-Hala are looking forward to face Hidd (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al-Najma will play against Al-Manama (#3) in Manama and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
