A very interesting game took place in Nizhny Novgorod. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of Parma-2 (2-6) to N.Novgorod-2 (1-3) 98-96 on Tuesday evening. N.Novgorod-2 made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Parma-2 turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a good game for guard Alexei Metelev (192-99) who led his team to a victory with 25 points. Forward Vladimir Karpenko contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. N.Novgorod-2's coach Roman Gorelovskiy used entire bench in such tough game. Guard Aleksandr Platunov (192-97) answered with a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists and forward Sergey Shirokov (202-97) added 17 points and 15 rebounds in the effort for Parma-2. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. N.Novgorod-2's next round opponent will be Zenit-2 (#6) in Saint Petersburg and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
