Regular Season Round 7: Inter Bratislava - Kosice 82-78

An interesting game for Inter Bratislava (6-1) which hosted in Bratislava Kosice (4-3). Inter Bratislava managed to get a 4-point victory 82-78. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-11. But Kosice won second period 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Inter Bratislava made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Kosice turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Kosice helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Michal Batka (204-87) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds. Serbian Nemanja Barac (194-90, agency: 011 Sports) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Serbian power forward Svetozar Stamenkovic (206-90) answered with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Croatian forward Igor Maric (196-85, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kosice. Four Kosice players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Inter Bratislava went down to first position due to points difference, which they share with Levice. Kosice at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Prievidza. Inter Bratislava is looking forward to face Nova Ves (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kosice will play against Iskra Svit (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
