Regular Season Round 5: Horsens IC - Stevnsgade 109-74

Leader Horsens IC delivered the fifth win on Thursday night. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Stevnsgade (0-5) 109-74. The game was mostly controlled by Horsens IC. Stevnsgade managed to win third quarter 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Horsens IC dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Stevnsgade's 30. They outrebounded Stevnsgade 48-25 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Horsens IC looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Stevnsgade's players. The best player for the winners was the former international center Kevin Larsen (207-93, college: G.Washington) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. International forward Frederik Rungby (198-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Horsens IC players scored in double figures. Horsens IC's coach Arnel Dedic felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International forward Mathias Seilund (204-90, college: Fair Dickinson) produced 23 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized American forward Mohamed Osman (197-97, college: SW Christian CC) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Horsens IC have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-1 record, which they share with Naestved. Stevnsgade at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Horsens IC is looking forward to face league's second-placed Naestved on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Stevnsgade will play against Horsholm (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
