Regular Season Round 9: Las Animas - Osorno 88-86

Fourth-ranked Osorno Basquetbol (3-4) was very close to win a game against first ranked Las Animas (8-1) in Valdivia on Friday. Las Animas managed to secure only two-point victory 88-86. However their fans expected easier game. Las Animas dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Osorno Basquetbol's 42. American forward Brandon Robinson (198-89, college: Clayton St.) nailed 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Kristian Clarkson (202-84, college: Widener) accounted for 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Las Animas players scored in double figures. American center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech) came up with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Pablo Coro (197-69) added 27 points and 8 rebounds (perfect behind the arc making all seven shots !!!) respectively for Osorno Basquetbol in the defeat. Las Animas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-1 record. Loser Osorno Basquetbol keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Las Animas will again meet Osorno Basquetbol (#4) on the road in the next round. Osorno Basquetbol will have a break next round.
