Regular Season Round 5: Lucentum - Moron 79-59

Leader HLA Alicante delivered the fourth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Moron (3-2) 79-59. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It looked good early as Moron took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then HLA Alicante had a 25-18 second period charge getting the lead and Moron was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 59-79. Forward Ignacio Diaz (200-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Alvaro Lobo (192-92, agency: Duran International) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Lobo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. HLA Alicante's coach David Varela allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guinean forward Cheick-Sekou Conde (203-92) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and forward Jose Jimenez (197-96) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Moron. HLA Alicante maintains first place with 4-1 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Moron at the other side keeps the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. HLA Alicante will play against Agustinos-Leclerc (#13) in Leon in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Moron will play at home against Plasencia (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
