Regular Season Round 9: CD Valdivia - CD Castro 76-71

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Deportivo Valdivia (5-3) beat at home 6th ranked CD Castro (2-7) 76-71 on Saturday. It was a good game for Spanish Alvaro Calvo (202-83, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 9 rebounds. American-Panamanian center Javier Carter (203-91, college: S.Alabama) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American forward Gary Johnson (198-88, college: Texas) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and Argentinian Marcos Saglietti (190-86) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for CD Castro. Deportivo Valdivia maintains third place with 5-3 record having four points less than leader Los Leones. CD Castro lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Deportivo Valdivia will face league's second-placed AB Ancud at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. CD Castro will play against Puerto Montt (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
