The biggest surprise took place in Istanbul where host Yakin Dogu BGD (4-0) crushed league's leader Abdullah Gul (3-1) 85-45 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Abdullah Gul. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Yakin Dogu BGD held Abdullah Gul to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 55.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Yakin Dogu BGD had a 38-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Yakin Dogu BGD especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Abdullah Gul's players. Hungarian-American point guard Courtney Vandersloot (173-89, college: Gonzaga) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 assists for the winners. American center Jantel Lavender (191-88, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Yakin Dogu BGD players scored in double figures. American-Serbian forward Danielle Page (188-86, college: Nebraska) produced 11 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian point guard Maja Miljkovic (175-88, agency: ProDep Management) added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yakin Dogu BGD have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Fenerbahce and Hatay. Abdullah Gul at the other side dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with Galatasaray. They were replaced at the leadership position by Fenerbahce. Abdullah Gul will play next round against strong Hatay trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Yakin Dogu BGD will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Galatasaray. It will be extra interesting game as Galatasaray is their local rival from Istanbul.
