Regular Season Round 5: Real Canoe - Avila 64-73

No shocking result in a game in Madrid where eighth ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (3-2) defeated 13th ranked Real Canoe (1-4) 73-64. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Real Canoe won fourth quarter 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fontedoso Carrefour forced 23 Real Canoe turnovers. American forward Kyle Hittle (196-94, college: Incarnate Word, agency: Dynamics Global Management) nailed 18 points for the winning side and forward Jon Aramburu (204-92, agency: Duran International) accounted for 10 points and 7 rebounds. Aramburu is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Center Osas Ehigitor (207-99, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Oscar Herrero (182-87) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Real Canoe in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fontedoso Carrefour moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Real Canoe dropped to the fourteenth position with four games lost. Fontedoso Carrefour's next round opponent will be Cambados (#10) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Real Canoe will play against Navarra (#12) in Pamplona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
