Regular Season Round 9: Puente Alto - CDU Concepcion 79-76

A very interesting game took place in Puente Alto. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-best Universidad de Concepcion (5-4) to fourth ranked Puente Alto (5-4) 79-76 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Universidad de Concepcion. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was American forward Jerome Hill (198-94, college: Gardner-Webb) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Venezuelan forward Juan Coronado (203-90, college: Liberty) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Puente Alto's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American Tracy Robinson (201-86, college: Loyola, IL) who recorded 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Diego Silva (186-93) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively. Five Puente Alto and four Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. Puente Alto keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Universidad de Concepcion. Puente Alto's next round opponent will be Espanol de Talca (#4) at home. Universidad de Concepcion will play against Tinguiririca S.F. in San Fernando and hope to win that game.
