Regular Season Round 5: Trefl - Miasto Szkla 98-77

Date: October 29, 2017
Everything could happen in Sopot at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Trefl and 12th ranked Miasto Szkla had identical 2-2 record. This time Trefl used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Krosno 98-77 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Trefl led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international Filip Dylewicz (202-80) stepped up and scored 29 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and American guard Brandon Brown (182-89, college: Montana-West) chipped in 13 points and 8 assists. American forward Jayvaughn Pinkston (201-91, college: Villanova) responded with 21 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Bosnian power forward Seid Hajric (204-83) scored 10 points. Five Trefl and four Miasto Szkla players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Trefl (3-2) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with MKS DG. Loser Miasto Szkla dropped to the thirteenth position with three games lost. Trefl will face higher ranked Rosa (#5) in Radom in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Miasto Szkla will play at home against MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#7) and hope to win that game.
