There was a minor upset when higher ranked Vicenza (3-2) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Lecco (3-2) 73-64 on Sunday. Lecco outrebounded Vicenza 41-23 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Jacopo Balanzoni (204-93, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Alessandro Maccaferri (177-95) chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Lecco players scored in double figures. Forward Andrea Campiello (200-87) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian center Diego Corral (203-86, agency: Interperformances) added 21 points respectively for the guests. Vicenza's coach Marco Silvestrucci let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Lecco moved-up to fourth place in B, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Vicenza. Lecco will face Lugo (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vicenza will play against Padova (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
