There was a minor upset in Szczecin where 7th ranked Wilki Morskie (3-4) was defeated by tenth ranked Rosa (3-1) 103-94 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 9 points. Rosa made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 65.4 percentage. Wilki Morskie was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Kevin Punter (188-93, college: Tennessee) stepped up and scored 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Ukrainian power forward Igor Zaytsev (210-89) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Five Rosa players scored in double figures. Rosa's coach Wojciech Kaminski used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Lithuanian Tauras Jogela (202-93, agency: Players Group) responded with 23 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and the former international swingman Pawel Kikowski (193-86) scored 21 points. Rosa moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Polpharma. Loser Wilki Morskie dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Rosa will face Trefl (#6) in Sopot in the next round. Wilki Morskie will play at home against PGE Turow (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
