Regular Season Round 4: Karditsas - AE Larissas 67-42

Date: October 29, 2017
Karditsas' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they outplayed much higher ranked AE Larissas (2-2) 67-42 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Karditsas. AE Larissas was better in third quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding AE Larissas to just 6 points in fourth quarter. It was a very good performance for Serbian center Stefan Djordjevic (206-89) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Thomas Amparas (190-94) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Swingman Giannis Papachristos (190-80) replied with 12 points and 9 rebounds and forward Sotiris Gioulekas (203-79) added 6 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for AE Larissas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Karditsas (1-3) left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place, which they share with Papagou and Doukas. Loser AE Larissas keeps the fifth position with two games lost. Karditsas will face bottom-ranked Arkadikos (#16) in Arkadia in the next round. AE Larissas will play at home against Papagou (#13) and hope to win that game.
