Very important is a road loss of third ranked Kanazawa Sam. (5-6) against fourth ranked Kumamoto V. (6-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Kanazawa Sam. was crushed by Kumamoto V. in Kumamoto 80-54. Kumamoto V. players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard Takumi Furuno (179-93) contributed with 6 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds and forward Yusuke Inoue (194-82) added 9 points in the effort for Kanazawa Sam.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kumamoto V.. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Hiroshima D. and Gunma. Kanazawa Sam. lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the third position with six games lost. Kumamoto V.'s next round opponent will be Yamagata (#4) on the road. Kanazawa Sam. will play against Iwate Big Bulls and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
