Regular Season Round 11: Iwate Big Bulls - Shinshu BW 64-87

Very expected game when 5th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (2-9) were crushed at home by first ranked Shinshu BW (8-3) 87-64 on Sunday. Shinshu BW outrebounded Iwate Big Bulls 39-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import center Nick Washburn (208-91, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) helped adding 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Washburn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American center Jalen McGaughy (208, college: Dillard) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and guard Ryuta Kato (181-93) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Shinshu BW. They maintain first place with 8-3 record, which they share with Fukushima. Iwate Big Bulls lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with nine games lost. Shinshu BW will face Cyberdyne IR (#4) in Tsukuba in the next round. Iwate Big Bulls will play on the road against Kanazawa Sam. in Ishikawa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
