Regular Season Round 4: Panteras - Abejas 97-83

Undefeated Abejas (1-1) recorded its first loss in Aguascalientes. Visitors were defeated by eleventh ranked Panteras (1-3) 97-83. Panteras outrebounded Abejas 41-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Panteras especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. The winners were led by American power forward Michael Glover (203-87, college: Iona) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and American-Puerto Rican guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (190-90, college: Canisius) supported him with 27 points. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. Even 29 points by American guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) did not help to save the game for Abejas. International center Edgar Garibay (211-90, college: Long Beach St.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panteras left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Toros. Abejas at the other side dropped to the eighth position with one game lost. Panteras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Abejas will play at home against Santos (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
