Regular Season Round 10: Puente Alto - CDE Talca 79-82
Date: October 29, 2017
The most shocking disappointment of round 10 in the Liga Nacional was only three-point a home defeat of 3rd ranked Puente Alto (5-5) to fourth ranked Espanol de Talca (6-4) 82-79. It was a key game for the top position in the league. American forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC) had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Eduardo Sepulveda (186-86) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Jerome Hill (198-94, college: Gardner-Webb) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and Venezuelan forward Juan Coronado (203-90, college: Liberty) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Puente Alto's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with CDU Concepcion and Los Leones. Puente Alto at the other side dropped to the fourth place with five games lost. Espanol de Talca is looking forward to face league's leader Universidad de Concepcion on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Puente Alto will play against Universidad Catolica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
