Regular Season Round 9: Ammerud Bskt - Baerum Basket 69-76

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Ammerud Bskt (5-6) against ninth ranked Baerum Basket (4-6) on Thursday night. Host Ammerud Bskt was defeated by Baerum Basket in a tough game in Oslo 69-76. The guests were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 22-15 Ammerud Bskt's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 76-69 at the end of the game. It was a good game for guard Stian Mjos (183-89) who led his team to a victory with 29 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Canadian guard Keith Omoerah (194-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four Baerum Basket players scored in double figures. Baerum Basket's coach Matthias Eckhoff used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. British center Morakinyo Williams (210-88, college: Citadel, agency: Interperformances) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 24 rebounds and Latvian forward Karlis Helmanis (200-97) added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Ammerud Bskt. Baerum Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Nidaros Jets. Ammerud Bskt at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Baerum Basket's next round opponent will be higher ranked Tromso (#4) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ammerud Bskt will play against Nidaros Jets and hope to win that game.
