Rather expected game in Manama where 10th ranked Al-Bahrain (2-6) was defeated by seventh ranked Al-Ittihad (4-4) 58-51 on Friday. The best player for the winners was American forward Antwan Wilkerson (201-91, college: Johnson C. Smith) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds. Sayed-Mohd Hameed chipped in 21 points. Al-Ittihad's coach Dejan Tomic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Merrill Holden (203-93, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 20 rebounds and Palestinian Mohammed Khalili (-89) added 4 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Al-Ittihad moved-up to sixth place. Al-Bahrain at the other side keeps the tenth position with six games lost. Al-Ittihad will meet at home Hidd (#12) in the next round where they are favorite.
