Regular Season Round 10: Waregem - Giants B 88-63

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Waregem as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Spirou B) loss. Waregem smashed 13th ranked Giants B at home 88-63. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Arne Steinbach (180-92, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 29 points. Swingman Brecht Guillemyn (192-87) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Center Roby Rogiers (206-97, agency: Court Side) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and international point guard Thomas Akyazili (188-97, college: Colorado) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Giants B. Four Giants B players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Gembo BBC and Oxaco. Giants B at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with six games lost. Giants B will play next round against strong Oxaco trying to get back on the winning streak. Waregem will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Neufchateau on the road.
