Regular Season Round 12: Yokohama BC - San-en 69-65

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Yokohama BC (3-10) beat at home 3rd ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (6-7) 69-65 on Saturday. San-en NeoPhoenix was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: Connecticut) who added 13 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman Cartier Martin (201-84, college: Kansas St.) with 25 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Tatsuya Suzuki (169-91) scored 5 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Yokohama BC maintains sixth position with 3-10 record, which they share with Osaka Evessa. Loser San-en NeoPhoenix dropped to the second place with seven games lost. Yokohama BC will face higher ranked Toyama Grouses (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. San-en NeoPhoenix will play against Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya and hope to win that game.
