There was no surprise when 10th ranked Ibbenbueren (2-7) was outplayed on the road by eighth ranked Salzkotten (4-5) 92-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. Salzkotten led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Salzkotten looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Felix Wenningkamp (195-88) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Fritz Hemschemeier (182-98) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Forward Benjamin Fumey (203-87, college: Valparaiso) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Spanish forward Albert Del-Hoyo (192-92) scored 21 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Salzkotten maintains eighth position in West with 4-5 record. Loser Ibbenbueren dropped to the eleventh place with seven games lost. Salzkotten will face league's leader Muenster on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ibbenbueren will play against Bonn II (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
