Regular Season Round 7: Piacenza - Palermo GB 102-70

Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Palermo GB (1-6) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Piacenza (6-1) 102-70 on Saturday. Piacenza shot 62.3 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Piacenza especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 69.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Palermo GB's players. It was a great evening for naturalized Argentinian guard Santiago Bruno (188-93, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points. Naturalized Argentinian forward Duilio Birindelli (200-84) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side guard Andrea Lombardo (197-90) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and Giuseppe Lombardo (197-83) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Piacenza have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in B. Palermo GB lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. Piacenza will face Crema (#4) on the road in the next round. Palermo GB will play against Rimini (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
